We are seeking a part-time PCA to join our friendly, energetic team that is committed to assisting a client with a brain injury. We are currently seeking weekend help. Pleasant and supportive work environment in a private home. Our client needs help with ADLs and IADLs, uses a wheelchair, and enjoys community outings. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and participation in therapy and social/recreational outings like horseback riding, gym, swimming, kayaking, sledding, cycling, etc. We are in need of coverage on weekdays and weekends. We are open to hiring more than one person in order to cover all shifts. We are looking for at least a one-year commitment as we provide a lot of training for our staff. The position would begin immediately. Having a flexible schedule is desirable. Specific Requirements: Prior relevant experience preferred (PCA, CNA, or home health aide). This is a great opportunity for students pursuing work in a medical or rehabilitation field, such as kinesiology, speech & communication disorders, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, pre-med, etc.) We will provide training. Professional Qualities: Punctual, dependable, & responsible Personal qualities -- trustworthy, patient, & compassionate Physically fit -- transfers are generally easy, but strength is a plus Valid driver’s license and safe driving history Reliable transportation - must live within 10 miles of the Amherst area Team player – part of a caregiving team; working well with others required Must be a non-smoker and able to pass a CORI.
