Description
If you are an outgoing, enthusiastic team player and enjoy working with children, Amherst Recreation is hiring counselors to work cooperatively and productively with other counselors to create an exciting positive, safe, educational camp experience.
Description:
- Provide a safe and high-quality summer recreational day camp experience for the 6-10 children in their group, and for the camp as a whole
- Work cooperatively and productively with all other staff to create a positive atmosphere and to create interesting and exciting educational and recreational activities for campers
- Counselors may be called upon to work with special needs children
- Assist directors with accident reports, attendance records, evaluations, and incident reports
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in small groups
- Ability to plan activities for and supervise groups of children
- Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required (training can be provided)
- All applicants must undergo a criminal history background check (CORI)
- Must be 18 years of age
Camp Dates: June 27th- August 12th, 2022
Counselors should be available to work the entire 8 weeks of summer day camps (5 days a week) and attend a pre-camp training session day prior to the first day of camp.
Counselors are also required to work part of the day/evening on July 4th.
