CWC Education & Outreach Staff
Volunteer, Student Hourly and Work Study positions available, work study preferred.
Academic credit potential in Fall semester, $14.25/hour to increase January 1, 2023.
4-8 hours a week, hours may differ depending on-time of year; some evening and weekend hours are required.
Required Training:
Tuesday 10-12:30 or
Wed 4 – 6:30 pm Fall semester only; successful completion of training required.
Additional Office Hours Mon-Fri 9-4 and occasional outreach opportunities off site.
General Overview:
CWC Education and Outreach Staff will assist with outreach initiatives, programming events, reception, and Information and Referral Services. Staff will be expected to become familiar with all services offered by the Center for Women & Community/WOCLN, as well as campus and community services.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with planning and organizing CWC annual events and outreach initiatives such as tabling, presentations, etc.
Assist with designing social media, educational activities, and outreach materials.
Inventory/prepare/maintain organization of outreach materials and supplies.
Deliver educational and programmatic content to the campus and wider community.
Maintain thorough and accurate statistics on all activities.
Help with annual recruitment of new program staff.
Follow all organizational protocols/procedures.
Provide reception services and make referrals as needed.
Completion of special projects throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Strong computer skills including image editing (Canva, Photoshop, etc) and sophistication with excel and social media.
Strong public speaking and communication skills.
Ability to help plan, organize events and conduct outreach within organizational guidelines.
Strong listening skills, ability to work in a team, and a positive can-do attitude.
Expected to support the anti-racist and social justice values of the organization, including awareness of contemporary issues affecting women and nonbinary individuals.
Demonstrated ability and desire to connect with diverse populations.
Interested in learning skills related to the provision of human services.
Able to complete a 40+ hour training and attend all training sessions.
Able to commit to the position for at least two consecutive semesters including training.
Bilingual and bicultural women and nonbinary individuals are encouraged to apply.
Training Provided: All training will be provided. No prior experience necessary.
